Marcia Donziger is a cancer survivor who believes a strong support community is critical for healing. During her treatment for advanced ovarian cancer at age 27, Marcia struggled with keeping friends and family informed. She felt guilty when she could not stay adequately connected to all of the people who wanted to help.
Marcia saw the need for an online support community for cancer patients, so in 2007, she founded MyLifeLine.org Cancer Foundation. Through MyLifeLine.org, cancer fighters and caregivers create websites to connect with their communities. Since its inception, more than 120,000 people have registered to give or receive support on MyLifeLine.org.
Marcia has been honored with the John Hickenlooper Unsung Hero Award and the Denver Channel’s Everyday Hero Award. MyLifeLine.org has been featured on the ABC, NBC and FOX affiliates in Denver and in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, The Denver Post, , CURE magazine, and Colorado Expression magazine, among others. She has spoken before numerous audiences, including the European Society of Gynecological Oncologists as an advocate for cancer patients and their families, and at DIRECTV’s leadership conference on work/life balance. Marcia grew up in Anaheim, CA, and currently lives in Denver, CO, with her 8-year old twin boys.
