Metropolitan State University of Denver is holding the 8th Annual Palliative Care Social Work Conference titled Crafting Courageous Conversations. This years topics include interesting “hot topic” issues such as the death with dignity act, medicinal marijuana, and other legal and ethical issues. This years keynote speakers include: Tracy Schroepfer, PhD, MSW and Gary Stein, JD, MSW. There will be several breakout sessions on death with dignity, advanced care planning, medical marijuana, pediatric palliative care, and estate planning. Triage Cancer's, Joanna Morales, Esq. will be a member of a discussion panel on the many implications associated with medical marijuana, in addition to a breakout session on the legal and ethical issues in estate planning. You will also have the opportunity to visit many exhibits and connect with other members of the palliative care community.
The early bird cost for attending the conference is $89, the cost goes up to $95 after April 4, 2016 and there is a special student rate of $79.
