Friday, April 8, 2016 – Sunday, April 10, 2016
The Hear My Voice: Metastatic Breast Cancer Outreach training is held each spring in conjunction with the 10th Annual Thriving Together: Conference on Metastatic Breast Cancer. The special training is led by Living Beyond Breast Cancer staff and advocacy leaders during the conference, beginning on Friday, April 8. The main goal of the program is to provide tools and training to help those living with metastatic breast cancer make a difference in both their physical and digital communities.
After the program training in April, volunteers are asked to complete at least two outreach activities within 9 months of the training. Previous volunteers have educated their communities through blogs and social media outreach, participated in speaking engagements about their experiences in their local communities, participated on research review boards, shared LBBC materials with healthcare professionals, and much more.
