During this live and interactive webinar, social workers, nurses, and board-certified patient advocates in attendance obtain a better understanding of how to navigate their young adult cancer patients on cancer-related legal issues. This webinar will cover the practical and legal issues that young adults diagnosed with cancer and caregivers face throughout the continuum of care, including employment, insurance, and managing finances. Attendees will learn about working through treatment, taking time off work, replacing lost wages, health insurance options, using your health insurance, and managing medical bills. Attendees will also learn about the various resources from Teen Cancer America available to adolescents and young adults diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers
This webinar will provide social workers, nurses, and other types of health care professionals with a foundation to help patients make decisions about cancer-related legal issues and provide appropriate referrals. All attendees will have the opportunity to ask the speakers questions in real-time via a chat box.
Triage Cancer is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Nurses who meet the requirements will be awarded 1.0 contact hour.
60 minutes of instruction/60 minutes = 1.0 contact hour
Triage Cancer, #1689, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Triage Cancer maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 08/26/2020 to 08/26/2023. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 continuing education credit.

Evaluation forms are emailed after the webinar and are required for a certificate. You will also receive a post-test, which is not mandatory, but strongly encouraged.

In order to receive CE/contact hour/PDC, attendees must register individually. Participants who “listen in” on another participant’s phone/computer will not be eligible for credit. Participants must attend the entire webinar. No partial credit will be given.
Participants will be emailed a link to the online evaluation and post-test one DAY after the completion of the webinar and will have one week to complete both. Participants must receive a passing grade (80%) on the post-test to receive CE/contact hour (only required for nurses and social workers). Participants who do not pass the post-test will be given one opportunity to re-take the test. Instructions and a link to re-take the exam will be emailed to every participant who does not receive a passing grade on the post-test. If participants do not pass the post-test on the second attempt they will not receive credit.
The relevant certificates will be emailed to eligible attendees within 4 weeks of the event.
