To address the increasing complexity of cancer-related financial, legal, and practical issues, Triage Cancer is taking a number of steps, including the formation of a Business Advisory Council. The overall goal is to deepen our relationships with the business community in order to better address the needs of the individuals diagnosed with cancer, caregivers, and health care professionals that we serve.
A cancer diagnosis cuts across every part of an individual’s life, and reverberates through families, friendships, and work relationships. It is estimated in the United States that 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will develop cancer in their lifetime.
The business community has the ability to reach their customers, their business partners, and their employees with information about how they can effectively navigate a cancer diagnosis and mitigate the resulting financial burden.
Triage Cancer’s Business Advisory Council is made up of business leaders who are interested in supporting our work. Some members also have a personal connection to the cancer community, some have subject matter expertise pertaining to issues often faced by those in the cancer community, such as managing finances.
