Here at Triage Cancer®, we offer internship opportunities for individuals passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of those affected by cancer. Our interns play a key role in supporting our mission of providing education and resources to individuals diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers. As an intern, you will engage in meaningful projects, gain hands-on experience, and develop valuable skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Internship Opportunities

Triage Cancer® is currently accepting applications for interns to work virtually. We are accepting internship applications from students at all academic levels, including high school students, undergraduates, law students, public health students, social work students, and other graduate students. We are also accepting applications for interns who are not currently enrolled in an academic program.

Triage Cancer® can serve as a work study host and can support applications for other types of funding such as fellowships. Triage Cancer® will work with students to obtain pro bono credit from their academic institutions.

Description

Triage Cancer® interns will support staff at and in preparation for local and national cancer community events and in other educational initiatives. Triage Cancer® interns should be enthusiastic about serving the cancer community, be organized, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate for this position is able to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with event preparations, including logistics and preparing materials
  • Assist with day-of-event activities, including set-up, registration, engaging with participants, and breakdown
  • Conduct event marketing efforts, including grassroots outreach, social media, online, radio, and print
  • Conduct data entry, mailings, phone calls, research, and other administrative tasks

Requirements

Individuals applying for this internship should be willing to commit at least 4 hours a week to this internship. Candidates should be proficient in all Microsoft Windows applications and have the ability to follow instructions. Spanish language skills a plus. These internships are nonpaying volunteer positions. Interns are strongly encouraged to seek out and apply for grants from their school and/or funding from other sources or course credit where available.

Chicago, IL. Some internships can be completed remotely.
