Dr. Thomas “Greg” Knight is a hematologist-oncologist at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute and an Associate Professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He is a nationally recognized leader in financial toxicity research and innovation, with a focus on developing practical, scalable interventions to reduce the financial burden of cancer care. Dr. Knight co-founded the first institutional Financial Toxicity Tumor Board, a multidisciplinary model that has supported thousands of patients and informed system-level improvements. His work spans multiple cancer populations and has demonstrated that addressing financial distress can improve both quality of life and clinical outcomes. He currently serves as principal investigator on multiple funded clinical trials evaluating the impact of structured interventions on financial toxicity and patient outcomes in oncology.
