Triage Cancer® Community Health Worker Training

Triage Health, a program of Triage Cancer, is providing a free training for community health workers (CHW), promotores, patient navigators, and other front line public health workers. This training provides an introduction to choosing and using health insurance, workplace rights to take time off to access health care, disability insurance, and strategies for managing medical bills.  Your registration does not guarantee your acceptance. You must respond to the acceptance email in order to receive the Zoom link.

Community Health Workers

During this live and interactive training, Community Health Workers in attendance will learn about choosing and using health insurance, workplace rights to take time off work to access health care, disability insurance, and strategies for managing medical bills.

This training will provide CHW's with a foundation to help patients make decisions about health & disability insurance, work, and medical bills. All attendees will have the opportunity to ask the speakers questions in real-time via a Q&A box.

If you would like a certificate of completion, you must indicate that when completing the Community Health Worker Training evaluation form. You must attend the entire event.

The evaluation and post-test are emailed after the event and are required for a certificate. Certificates of attendance can be submitted to accrediting agencies.

Objectives

  • Attendees will be able to outline how community health workers can engage in various types of advocacy and encourage their community members to be advocates
  • Attendees will be able to outline the various health insurance options and consumer protections available to community members
  • Attendees will be able to outline how the ADA and FMLA can be useful to employees dealing with a serious medical condition, or acting as a caregiver for a loved one

Requirements to Receive Credit

Attendance

In order to receive a certificate of attendance, attendees must register individually. Participants who “listen in” on another participant’s phone/computer will not be eligible for credit. Participants must attend the entire event. No partial credit will be given.

Post-test & Evaluation

Participants will be emailed a link to the online evaluation and post-test after the completion of the Community Health Worker Training and will have one week to complete both.

Certificates

The relevant certificates will be emailed to eligible attendees within 4 weeks of the event.
