Webinar: Returning to Work After COVID-19

Join us for a FREE live, interactive, webinar as part of the Triage Cancer Webinar Series, which will provide up-to-the-minute information about changes to health insurance and employment with a focus on returning to work after COVID-19.  Attendees will learn about recent changes and new rules that may impact an individual's financial situation, including housing and other consumer assistance programs.

Social workers and nurses in attendance will walk away with a better understanding of the changes to health insurance and employment due to COVID-19. This webinar will explore changes to health insurance and employment, including new options for paid sick leave, paid family leave, and unemployment benefits. We will also cover recent changes and new rules that may impact an individual's financial situation, including access to life insurance, cash assistance, student loans, mortgages, evictions, utilities, and more. State approaches to the electronic creation and execution of estate planning documents will also be discussed. This webinar will provide social workers, nurses, and other types of health care professionals with a foundation to help patients make those decisions and provide appropriate referrals. All attendees will have the opportunity to ask the speakers questions in real time via a chat-box.

ACCREDITATION INFORMATION

Nurses: Triage Cancer is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Nurses who meet the requirements will be awarded 1 contact hour.

Social Workers: Triage Cancer, #1689, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Triage Cancer maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 08/26/2019 to 08/26/2020. Social workers completing this course receive 1 continuing education credit.

In order to receive CE/contact hour, attendees must register individually. Participants who “listen in” on another participant’s phone/computer will not be eligible for credit. Participants must attend the entire webinar, no partial credit will be given.

Participants will be emailed a link to the online evaluation and post-test one hour after the completion of the webinar and will have one week to complete both. Participants must receive a passing grade (80%) on the post-test to receive CE/contact hour. Participants who do not pass the post- test will be given one opportunity to re-take the test. Instructions and a link to re-take the exam will be emailed to every participant who does not receive a passing grade on the post-test. If participants do not pass the post-test on the second attempt they will not receive credit.

The relevant certificates will be emailed to eligible attendees within 4 weeks of the event.

  • Attendees will be able to articulate changes to health insurance as a result of COVID-19.
  • Attendees will be able to outline new opportunities to take job protected time off as a result of COVID-19.
  • Attendees will be able to describe the different state approaches to the electronic creation and execution of estate planning documents.
