This chart includes the state laws that provide benefits and protections in the health insurance related to COVID-19.

Congress has passed several pieces of legislation that may provide federal benefits. The CARES Act and Families First Act requires that group health plans and individual health insurers cover (without cost-sharing) COVID-19 testing and urgent-care, emergency room, and telehealth visits that result in an order for an administration of a COVID-19 test.
