Kidney Cancer Association Programs for Patients & Caregivers

This blog post is from our organizational partner, the Kidney Cancer Association (KCA), which is a global community dedicated to serving and empowering patients and caregivers, and leading change through advocacy, research, and education in order to be the universal leader in finding the cure for kidney cancer.

The KCA seeks to be a source of education and resources for patients, caregivers, and anyone impacted by kidney cancer, promotes scientific advances through two annual research symposiums and a robust grant program and participates in legislative advocacy.

KCA Patient Programs and Support Tools

The KCA is dedicated to patients and caregivers, providing information, guidance, and supportive resources to all communities. This is done through a multitude of programs and resources such as our Patient Navigator Program, Just Diagnosed Toolkit, Online Support Community, Clinical Trial Finder, Financial Education, and our newly launched Kidney Cancer Mentor Program.

Each year the KCA hosts a Virtual Patient Symposium (VPS) which is an opportunity for patients and caregivers to learn about kidney cancer from medical professionals and fellow patients, caregivers, and survivors.

On-demand videos are available for free that share important topics such as Nutrition for Kidney Cancer, Understanding your Kidney Cancer Pathology Report, Palliative and End-of-Life Decisions, and much more.

Support Groups

The KCA hosts virtual, peer-led meetings for anyone affected by kidney cancer to learn and lift each other through casual conversation, shared experiences, guest speakers, resource sharing, and friendship-making. Two support groups held monthly are:

  • Caregiver Connections: open to caregivers, family members, and friends
  • Patient Perspectives: open to patients, survivors, and their loved ones
