About Us

Our Mission

Triage Cancer® is a national, nonprofit organization that provides free education on the legal and practical issues that may impact individuals diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers, through events, materials, and resources.

Our Vision

We dream of a world where everyone has access to information and resources needed to find their best path forward.

Life never feels more valuable and finite than after diagnosis. In an instant, plans change, and questions, needs, and challenges arise. Without the right answers and support, that diagnosis is daunting, frustrating, and overwhelming.

We believe that those diagnosed with cancer should spend their time and energy how they choose, secure in the knowledge that they have objective, accurate information, and necessary resources to make the right decisions.

How We Achieve our Mission

Triage Cancer® exists to ensure those diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers have access to the resources needed to make the best decisions for them.

Through our cancer events, materials, and resources we ensure that the most objective, factual information is available to those that need it most.

We advocate for the health care, financial, insurance, employment, and consumer rights of those diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers.

Triage Cancer® also works to address cancer-related health disparities through the delivery of cancer-related education, collaborative education, and cancer advocacy.

By educating and advocating we ensure that those diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers are empowered to find their best path forward, beyond diagnosis.

Our Name

A cancer diagnosis can be a life-altering event, not only for the individual diagnosed, but also for an individual’s family, friends, caregivers, and community of support.

A cancer diagnosis comes with a never-ending amount of information to learn and decisions to make. Trying to juggle it all can be incredibly overwhelming without the right support and guidance.

Our goal is to provide access to quality information about cancer-related issues that may arise after a diagnosis, whether they’re medical, legal, financial, or practical challenges and decisions. Armed with that information, individuals can better decide what needs to be handled first and what problems can wait until later – the very definition of triaging.

The concerns of an individual may change over time. When diagnosed, concerns may center around treatment options and cancer health insurance coverage. During treatment, issues related to managing treatment side effects, nutrition, employment & work rights may arise. After completing treatment, concerns may shift towards survivorship care planning, relationship issues, and managing finances.

Triage Cancer® helps people move beyond diagnosis.
