Many pharmaceutical companies and specialty pharmacies have assistance programs that may be able to help patients cope with the financial aspects of a cancer diagnosis. For example, they may provide co-pay assistance to help people who have health insurance pay for the out-of-pocket costs associated with prescription drugs. They may also be able to provide their prescription drugs at no cost to individuals without health insurance.
In addition to financial assistance to access prescription drugs, many pharmaceutical companies offer other programs to help patients cope with other aspects of cancer care. For example, they may offer:
