Insurance Coverage of Screening Mammograms

This chart summarizes state laws requiring insurance coverage for screening mammograms. Federal law also requires most commercial health plans to cover screening mammograms for women ages 40–74 without cost-sharing. Depending on the state and the type of health plan, either federal or state law may provide more generous coverage protections.
