27 Jan Triage Cancer: Building on a Milestone Year and Looking Ahead to 2026
January 27, 2026 ~ At Triage Cancer, the past year marked another important chapter in our mission to provide trusted legal and practical education for people affected by cancer. For 14 years, we have remained committed to helping individuals navigate the complex issues that often follow a cancer diagnosis, from health insurance and employment to finances, disability, and estate planning.
In 2025, more than 1.4 million people were reached through our educational materials, websites, blogs, and podcasts. And from 2012 to 2025, we provided more than 569,702 people with legal and practical knowledge through 1,815 online and in-person educational events held across all 50 states, Washington, DC, Guam, Puerto Rico, and Canada.
Our Legal & Financial Navigation Program provided one-on-one assistance to more than 2,035 individuals, connecting people with personalized guidance on cancer related legal and financial issues when they needed it most. All of our programs and resources continue to be offered free of charge to the cancer community.
What’s New?
The past year brought several new programs and tools designed to expand access to reliable cancer education.
We launched the How to Triage Health podcast, which extends our reach through on-demand conversations about the legal and practical challenges faced by individuals with serious or chronic medical conditions. Through interviews with experts and advocates, the podcast explores health insurance, employment, finances, and access to care, helping listeners better understand their rights and options.
We also published Cancer Rights Law, 2nd Edition. This updated edition reflects recent changes in the law and emerging issues in cancer care, ensuring that readers have current and trustworthy information.
In addition, we continued to develop new tools to make complex systems easier to navigate, including:
- Triage Health Appeals Navigator: Powered by Counterforce Health, which guides users through the health insurance appeals process step by step.
- Our Health Insurance Comparison Calculator, which helps individuals compare plan options and make informed enrollment decisions.
These tools are part of our growing library of free resources designed to simplify complex systems and support informed decision making.
Save the Date: Our 2026 Conferences
We are pleased to share the dates for our 2026 conferences:
- May 15–16, 2026
- November 6–7, 2026
These national conferences bring together individuals diagnosed with cancer, caregivers, health care professionals, advocates, and navigators for in-depth education on legal and practical issues that affect access to care. Nurses and social workers can earn free continuing education credits at all live events.
