Benefits can be claimed for a maximum of 26 weeks. Payment is available via direct deposit or debit card. Claimants must maintain a verifiable job search record in order to maintain eligibility for benefits and must make at least three job search contacts per week. State Clinical Trials Law

The ACA requires that most, non-grandfathered, group health plans provide coverage for the routine costs when participating in clinical trials. Some states have more consumer protections. Click here for more information about clinical trials.

This state does not mandate insurers or HMOs doing business in state to cover routine patient costs associated with clinical trials.

Paid Family Sick Leave

  • Who’s eligible? Almost all employees, so long as they have worked for the employer for 20 or more hours a week for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Who can be cared for? A family member with a serious health condition, certified by a medical professional. Family member includes a spouse, domestic partner, child, parent, in-law, grandparent, or grandchild.
  • How much time is given? Up to 10 weeks.
  • How much is paid?60% of your average weekly wage up to $840/week. You can calculate your weekly benefits here.
  • How do I apply? Submit paperwork to your employer’s insurance carrier within 30 days after the start of your leave and give your employer advance notice.
